A poem of hopeful healin
(TW) Contains suggestive topics of SH
The night feels heavy, the weight won’t fade,
A storm of thoughts you wish would wane.
Silent battles, scars unseen,
A war within, a whispered scream.
The past may ache, the wounds may sting,
But healing hums in everything.
The laughter shared, in morning’s glow,
And gentle hands that won’t let go.
You are more than all this pain,
More than shadows, more than rain.
The cracks don’t mean that you are weak—
That’s where the light begins to seep.
So when the weight feels hard to bear,
Know there’s hope beyond despair.
One more breath, one step, then two
The world still shines because of you.

I appreciate very much the positive slant your poem takes. The opening stanza begins with such intense imagery, indicative of the emotional turmoil you describe. But then you have chosen to temper the proceeding stanzas with soft suggestions of hope, resilience, and potential support. The rhyme scheme and melody of the rhythm equally emphasises this gentle approach. I particular like the last two lines "One more breath, one step, then two. The world still shines because of you". It speaks volumes about the strength of perseverance, and is such a kind and hopeful message.
Kudos.
@Sophia7721 “A war within, a whispered scream”—that line - the perfect echo of silent struggles we fight alone. The imagery throughout is striking, the weight of the night almost tangible, yet there’s such a gentle resilience woven in. And yet, the shift from pain to light is seamless, like dawn breaking through storm clouds. A beautifully crafted poem, both honest and reassuring.
