Cruel saints

What a bitter contradiction...

They become a balm for strangers' wounds,

a shoulder for unfamiliar tears,

and have a thousand beautiful words

for the suffering of others.

They speak of humanity,

of compassion, of love, of kindness...

Their hands are always open to save the world,

yet those very hands

crush the heart of the person dearest to them

with such merciless ease.

Someone stands close by,

someone who loves them,

who has placed their heart in their presence,

someone who may have reduced their entire world

to the reflection in their eyes.

And yet, how effortlessly

they break that heart,

without the slightest hesitation,

as though that love holds no value,

as though it does not even deserve

the smallest measure of tenderness.

How strange...

How can someone weep

for the suffering of the entire world,

yet remain utterly unmoved

while breaking the heart

of someone who loves them?

I liked that poem.. Everybody has the ability to help, heal, or harm others when it comes to love.. it's a harsh reality most of us face..

Thanks for sharing 🌟 🌲

Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughtful comment! Sometimes those who appear kindest are the ones who leave the deepest wounds.
