Hii since this is my first time posting poetry on here, I wanted to share an old poem I wrote from a few years ago. I’d love any kind of feedback :)

“Lessons”

If I’ve learned anything -

it’s to love.

I get carried away

into galaxies 

full of unknown

planets

and wonders

and amazements 

of bright stars

shining in a dark sky

full of interesting colors

that I’ve never seen before.

If I’ve learned anything -

it’s to care.

I travel through the mountains

and hike through 

the majestic forests; 

fly above the clouds

and swim through piranha-infested rivers

just to find you.

And if I’ve learned anything -

it’s to dream 

so I follow 

my imagination

instead of the other way around

leading to the unreachable 

that maybe I’ll one day reach;

and the unthinkable 

that I’ve thought of 

and maybe…

just maybe 

I’ll find more.

But throughout it all

I’ve learned 

to be me 

and embrace the person 

I had never embraced before;

to love the person inside

who’s been with me 

every step of the way
