Moonlight

The warmth of the fire,
The cool of the wind,
A cold breeze goes warm,
Contradictions happen every
Single day.
Surrounded by family,
But I'm here all alone,
The branches crack and scream,
As I'm walking through the woods,
While I sit here so very still.
A song in the background,
Blasting out of the truck,
The speakers pop and crack,
Under the weight of the
Sound.
A warm hand on my shoulder,
A brush on my cheek,
Does the sound speak to me
Or am I starting to drift
Into a dream?
The moon shines so bright,
Shimmering faces surround,
Bringing light where they glance,
But the darkness,
You can feel it encroach.
As I sit here together, alone,
Surrounded by warm loving hate,
I am stuck in rejected acceptance,
Contradictions happen every
Single day.
