My heart
My heart is a strange place tonight.
Half of it is healing,
half of it still remembers the wound.
I smile,
then suddenly miss a version of life
that no longer exists.
It feels like standing in the rain
while sunlight touches my face.
Like laughing with tears still drying
under my eyes.
I thought heartbreak would only feel dark,
but nobody told me
how grief can glow sometimes too.
Because even after all the pain,
my heart is still able to love,
still able to hope,
still able to beat softly
for tomorrow.
And maybe that is the strangest feeling of all
to carry sadness in one hand
and peace in the other
without dropping either. 🌙
@yorsunshine17 — this poem is EXCELLENT and you should submit it somewhere that is accepting submissions. I know Silent Spark Press is accepting poems right now because I've submitted three myself.
Wow such talent!-)
