Oh My! (My first poem in the poetry group)
Oh My!
There is something broken inside.
Oh My!
I better not let you know and cry.
Oh My!
You think you are bigger and better than me.
Oh My!
You pushed me away.
Oh My!
Silence.
Oh My!
Broken Silence.
Oh My!
What did you say today?
You know I tried to obey...
You always seem to be glad,
When you make me feel bad.
Oh My!
You are out of my life now.
Oh My!
I can't forget about you.
Oh My!
I wish I could get you out of my head.
Oh My!
I pray but don't know what to say...
You left me with an obsession,
So now I try to write this confession.
@tryingtosurvive2024 that's a very sad poem😥 but written so beautifully ❤ I'm not sure who that poem is about, but I hear you ❤❤ hugs you tightly ❤
@Tinywhisper11 Both poems are about the feelings I have been dealing with since this one Christian person came in and out of my life.
@tryingtosurvive2024 ahhh! Ok I gotcha. The thing is you know what's right and what's wrong in your heart ❤ so don't let anyone change you ❤
@Tinywhisper11 I think my poems often concern people because they are raw and honest to my feelings. My whole life has been an emotional struggle. I know you can relate to that. (((hugs)))
@tryingtosurvive2024 pssst! I'll let you in on a little secret, when it comes to poems I'm not great at understanding the meanings behind them, I often get it wrong. But I try😁
@Tinywhisper11 That is ok, not all poems are self explanatory. Some will give you hints inside the poem. Mine typically don't, since mine are emotionally driven.
Here is an example of a song that explains it's self. I put in bold print the part that brings out the heart/reason for the song.
5. Architeuthis by Tourniquet.
[Words & music - Kirkpatrick]
[Romans 1:20, 1 Corinthians 2:9]
There is a beast that does exist
Not just a myth - the facts persist
Known from the dead that washed ashore
From modern graphs to old folklore
Not yet one ever seen alive
Though scientists and divers strive
Architeuthis - show yourself to us
Among the largest of the planet
The giant squid - the architeuthis
How can this massive creature
Escape the hordes of searching eyes
Escape the wisdom of the wise
Escape the sonar, the bathyscaphe
Returns with countless plotted graphs
Architeuthis - show yourself to us
I know God I've never seen
Not merely just a wishful dream
Alive, nut not for us to see
But living in the hearts of men
So great is His love for us
Yet many seekers look in vain
If you will set aside your pride, your arrogant facade
Then you can enter into grace
Architeuthis show yourself to us
Let us gaze at your haunting frame
We know you're real - no longer conceal
What bloated corpses already revealed
The last of the giant living mysteries
Architeuthis - show yourself to us
@tryingtosurvive2024 that is a great song ❤ we gotta see something's with our heart ❤

The emotive way you have delivered your ideas and the style you have chosen makes your poem seem very much like it could be song lyrics. As @Tinywhisper11 has already said, the sadness behind your verses is very clear, and seems tinged with a regret that wants to grow into anger but is muted back down.
Thank you for sharing it with us.
@BastionKnight Poetry and song lyrics are very similar. I learned my style by listening to a lot of songs. The relationship I was in was very confusing. It had a lot of hot and cold in it. Most of the time, I couldn't figure out why it existed at all. It had a way of making me feel good and then slamming me down again. I always wondered what I was missing, and if I could of said something a little better or differently if maybe things would of gotten better. I prayed about the situation more times than I can count. As far as I know it is all over. But emotional healing takes time.
