Seen
Seen
All the girl wanted,
Was to be seen.
Not by the neighbor,
Not by the sports team.
“Oh, confidence! I must redeem,”
Cried the girl who couldn’t find peace.
She wanted to cry but no tears fell,
They never did, except maybe in ***.
“I’m numb” she thought through and well,
Maybe, just maybe, that’s why the tears never fell.
But then she called to God and asked to be set free,
From all this worry, pain, from you and me.
She gave her soul and followed him now,
“Dear God, please forgive me and help me out. Out of this sorrow and pain and all bad, just for now? I’ll do better and be a good scout.”
Then she could live and be,
All from that single vow.

Beautifully poignant.
Relatable.
Raw
The most powerful poems are from the heart.
I hope this girl sees her beauty, her worth and finds happiness and peace 🩷

@Soph444 I enjoyed reading what you wrote. Thank you so much for this. 😊
