Structure and Spontaneity

Some see the world

through lines and dots

Neat rows of a leaves veins,

Twelve to a dozen, and

The routine setting of the sun.

Their earth is safe-

Mother nature’s perfect equation.

And some see the world like a piece

Of Jackson Pollock’s art.

Messy green on blue.

Hasty fingers smudging leftover paint

On the worn canvas.

This world is vibrant and carefree

Like a common oyster’s magical pearl.

But few see the world

As a mix of both.

An instance of structured spontaneity-

Or spontaneous structure-

Whichever one likes more.

A living being-

With hundreds of inherited genes-

And still an unpredictable face.

For the truth is,

Neither exists without the other-

An endless summer has no surprise,

Like a list of tasks has no sense-

Without a dream born from a wild heart.

And the earth can be all three-

For it is the artist, the lawyer, the writer,

Drawing, typing, crafting their view.

And when they decide to see the world,

Not as they know it, but as they dream it,

That is structured spontaneity

That is spontaneous structure.

@redTree7626

I am definitely more of a messy green on blue 😁

Your words so effortlessly speak about the idea that life is not linear, and we must embrace the ups but also the downs to know the difference 💕💜
