The Hummingbird

And the hummingbird sang

Even when the oak trees-

Ancient and healing-

Burst into fierce flames

Its melody like a breeze

Rushed through my window

And comforted my soul

It hummed while the sky cracked

And streaks of sublime light

Besieged the heavens

It trilled the day the bridge fell

colliding with the cruel water

Humming when my tears fell as well

As I watched loved faces

Turn to stone in my arms

And when the coffin lids were drawn-

When my final goodbyes were done

I looked at the hummingbird atop a tree

Chirping like spring had just begun

And an echo of its song found my heart

Mending my wounds, sharing its light

Then the hummingbird and I warbled together

We sang of hopes and dreams

Of brilliant sunsets and sunny skies

And the hummingbird is gone now-

Up to a heavenly chorus in the clouds

But I still hum its tunes-

When it rains or when it snows

And whenever I seem to lose all hope

I remember that the hummingbird sang

@redTree7626 that's so sad but such a beautiful poem💖 a message of loss and disasters but yet the bird still sings💖 that is just so beautiful 💗
