The weight I carry
How do you know
if someone is alright?
Do you ask them?
or let their actions
speak for them?
You can't always know.
Some choose to talk,
some, to hide.
In some, their eyes tell
all you need to know.
What do my eyes say?
Do they show the chaos,
the trouble in my soul?
My eyes, windows
I shut closed.
Maybe because I am skilled
at shutting people out.
I don't have many to talk to.
I wonder about that.
Oh, well, I know.
I over- analyze,
second-guess,
doubt.
It's easier to bottle it up.
No one gets let down.
But things pile up.
You break down.
You pull your hair.
You curl into yourself,
trying to keep it together.
Not for you,
but for everyone else.
What happens when it's too much?
Do you ask for help?
or keep it to yourself?
I know my answer.
I hope you choose
something else.
@BlueJay06 👏👏 great poem 💖 we are all indeed very different, but my hope is that when it becomes to much for any one person to carry they choose to reach out for help 💖 you express yourself so very well through your poetry, keep writting💖💖 gives you a giant tiny hug 💗
