I stuffed you down

Locked you up so you would never escape

I was scared: you were my weakness,

I could not even bear to face you myself

But I see now you are beautiful and human

You are complete

You are alive

You are free

I wanted you least when you needed me most

I wanted you gone- to rip you from my chest

I never let you gently cascade down my face

I’m so sorry and I welcome you now with open arms

You and I are one and we are always enough
