Up Vote, Up Vote (Poem)
Up Vote, Up Vote,
I feel like talking,
I do you feel like walking?
I'm all alone.
And it makes me sad.
Sometimes I feel like I'm going mad.
Am I really that bad?
What would make you glad?
I try and try,
I wonder why,
I wonder why.
Sigh
@tryingtosurvive2024 This poem carries a lot of emotion, and I can feel the loneliness and frustration in your words. You’re not bad, and you’re not alone sometimes, life just feels heavy, and it’s okay to feel that way. Keep expressing yourself, keep reaching out, and know that there are people who care about you. You matter, and your feelings are valid
@313ali Thank you for reading my poem and for your kind words. 😊
@tryingtosurvive2024 You’re very welcome! I’m really glad you shared your poem it’s powerful and meaningful. Don’t forget, your feelings are always valid, and you’re not alone. If you ever need to talk or share more, I’m here
@313ali thank you again for your kind message. Among other things, I am socially awkward. When it comes to these poems, I just write out my intense emotions in a rhyming format. Lately I have been feeling intense. I lost a friend, and I resigned from my job. I'm feeling scared, and some sad. I also feel glad that maybe I'm going to be able to start a new life.
@tryingtosurvive2024 I’m really sorry you’re going through this, but I admire how you’re channeling your emotions into your writing. Losing a friend and leaving a job are huge changes, and it’s totally okay to feel all kinds of things right now. Starting a new chapter can be scary, but it also brings a lot of hope. I’m proud of you for taking the steps to create a fresh start. You’re not alone, and you’ve got the strength to move through this. If you ever want to talk or share more, I’m here for you
@313ali The friendship turned dangerous. The job was getting harder to do, and I couldn't please my new boss.
@tryingtosurvive2024 @jetmorph I’m really sorry to hear that things turned out that way. It’s so hard when a friendship becomes unhealthy, and when work starts to feel impossible, especially with a boss who’s hard to please. But you made the right choice to walk away from situations that weren’t good for you. It’s a sign of strength to recognize when something isn’t working and make a change. You’re doing what’s best for your well being, and even though it’s tough right now, this can be the start of something better. If you need someone to talk to, I’m here for you
@313ali I got to warn you, sometimes due to my awkwardness and sometimes even lack of understanding of social etiquette, I have made some women feel uneasy! I made my former female friend feel uneasy when it wasn't even my goal to do so! I am afraid that I am going to end up alone because I am misunderstood by the female gender.
Throughout history it has been common for Men and Women, Boys and Girls to pick on each other. But I don't engage in that much anymore. The reason why is, I want to be liked, and loved!
There is a big difference between making someone feel uneasy on purpose than it is when you make them feel uneasy and it is not on purpose. What is bothering me about myself is how I can make someone feel uneasy when DON'T want too. It makes me feel like I'm creep, but what is worse, like I don't have any control over my social situations. It feels isolating, and scary.
If you know this about me and you still want to be my friend! My hats are off to you.

@tryingtosurvive2024 This poem captures loneliness so well—it’s raw, reflective, and deeply relatable. The repetition of "I wonder why" and the sigh at the end really hit. Beautifully expressed!
@azurePond poetry is a talent of mine that is just naturally mixed into my negative emotions. I really wish I could get rid of these emotions! Thank you for liking my poem. 😊
@tryingtosurvive2024 yeah I get that .... emotions can be overwhelming, but they also fuel your poetry. Your talent turns them into something meaningful—maybe dont wish them away...! 😊
@azurePond I used to do silly poems at work, and one person criticized my poetry by telling me they are not their thing, and that there is more to poetry than rhyme. They told me to research poetry. I told them I did, and found something that gave 10 rules of poetry. The first rule is there is no rules. lol
@tryingtosurvive2024 I relate to that. My poems were strictly scrutinized and criticized too. At one point I even stopped writing. I only started again after joining 7 Cups and even now I don’t post or write anywhere else. It kind of affected me—I don’t want to throw around words like trauma but you know, when you pour your emotions into writing and people tear it apart... it stings. Makes you even question about yourself and your emotions. That’s why I support everyone’s poetry. Every poem is a story or an emotion—there is no right or wrong, no rules, no single interpretation or one way of writing. Poetry is beautiful and poets have beautiful souls. I find it incredible that a human being can look at a rose and feel something—maybe happiness.... maybe loss—and be moved to write about it. And then another person who reads it may feel happy, sad or even pain, but at some level they are connecting. That’s what humanity is about—empathy and expression. There should be no strict rules to shackle the genuineness and transparency of it. Apologies for the essay, but the bottom line is—if rhyme makes your poems fun, then that’s your style! Keep writing what brings you joy 😊
@azurePond It is ok, I agree with you. I think a lot of people lack empathy. They see words on a page, but don't understand the meaning behind the words.
@tryingtosurvive2024 Yes. They do not try to understand the gravity of those words. And words always carry a weight that feels different for the speaker/ writer and the listener/reader.
