Up Vote, Up Vote,

I feel like talking,

I do you feel like walking?

I'm all alone.

And it makes me sad.

Sometimes I feel like I'm going mad.

Am I really that bad?

What would make you glad?

I try and try,

I wonder why,

I wonder why.

Sigh

@tryingtosurvive2024 This poem carries a lot of emotion, and I can feel the loneliness and frustration in your words. You’re not bad, and you’re not alone sometimes, life just feels heavy, and it’s okay to feel that way. Keep expressing yourself, keep reaching out, and know that there are people who care about you. You matter, and your feelings are valid

@tryingtosurvive2024 This poem captures loneliness so well—it’s raw, reflective, and deeply relatable. The repetition of "I wonder why" and the sigh at the end really hit. Beautifully expressed!

@azurePond  poetry is a talent of mine that is just naturally mixed into my negative emotions.  I really wish I could get rid of these emotions!  Thank you for liking my poem.  😊

@tryingtosurvive2024 yeah I get that .... emotions can be overwhelming, but they also fuel your poetry. Your talent turns them into something meaningful—maybe dont wish them away...! 😊

@azurePond  I used to do silly poems at work, and one person criticized my poetry by telling me they are not their thing, and that there is more to poetry than rhyme.  They told me to research poetry.  I told them I did, and found something that gave 10 rules of poetry.  The first rule is there is no rules.  lol

@tryingtosurvive2024 I relate to that. My poems were strictly scrutinized and criticized too. At one point I even stopped writing. I only started again after joining 7 Cups and even now I don’t post or write anywhere else. It kind of affected me—I don’t want to throw around words like trauma but you know, when you pour your emotions into writing and people tear it apart... it stings. Makes you even question about yourself and your emotions. That’s why I support everyone’s poetry. Every poem is a story or an emotion—there is no right or wrong, no rules, no single interpretation or one way of writing. Poetry is beautiful and poets have beautiful souls. I find it incredible that a human being can look at a rose and feel something—maybe happiness.... maybe loss—and be moved to write about it. And then another person who reads it may feel happy, sad or even pain, but at some level they are connecting. That’s what humanity is about—empathy and expression. There should be no strict rules to shackle the genuineness and transparency of it. Apologies for the essay, but the bottom line is—if rhyme makes your poems fun, then that’s your style! Keep writing what brings you joy 😊

@azurePond It is ok, I agree with you.  I think a lot of people lack empathy.  They see words on a page, but don't understand the meaning behind the words.

@tryingtosurvive2024 Yes. They do not try to understand the gravity of those words. And words always carry a weight that feels different for the speaker/ writer and the listener/reader.
