Walls of Silence, Heart of Stone
I stand alone, yet crave you near,
A fleeting touch ignites my fear.
I build my walls, I guard my space,
Love feels too much—too fast, too great.
You reach for me, your hands so warm,
But closeness feels like quiet storm.
I turn away, retreat, resist,
Not out of hate—but to exist.
I learned too young that love can fade,
That trust is built, but not to stay.
So here I stand, composed, apart,
Yet aching in my hollow heart.
You ask me why I never share,
Why love feels distant, cold, unfair.
But every time you pull me in,
I only think of ways to dim.
To need is weak, to want is pain,
So I keep feelings locked in chain.
It’s safer here behind my guard,
Than risk a love that breaks too hard.
But in the dark, when no one's near,
A whisper calls, so soft, sincere.
A part of me still longs to see,
If love could come and set me free.
