Why i should suffer alone
In real life,
nobody hears the person
who cries silently.
They notice the loud breakdowns,
the dramatic endings,
the visible scars
but not the quiet suffering
hidden behind tired eyes
and forced smiles.
In real life,
people tell you to stay strong
because it sounds comforting,
not realizing strength becomes painful
when you’ve carried everything alone
for too long.
So you wake up every day
already exhausted,
already fighting thoughts
you can’t explain to anyone
without feeling like a burden.
And somehow,
life still expects you
to answer messages,
finish work,
laugh at jokes,
and act like your chest
isn’t collapsing inward.
In real life,
some people are drowning
while sitting right beside you
completely unnoticed.
That’s the cruel thing about loneliness
you can be surrounded by people
and still feel like
nobody would truly see your pain
unless you disappeared from the world entirely.
So you learn to suffer quietly.
You learn to say “I’m okay”
with a shaking heart.
You learn how to survive days
you secretly hoped you wouldn’t wake up to.
And nobody realizes
how much courage it takes
for some people
just to stay alive another day.
I am kinda crying because of your poem I really really relate to what you are saying it’s a lovely poem and an amazing I always love reading your poem sunshine
