Would you give me a sign?
Would you still smile if I showed up early,
wear on my shoes,
pretending I hadn’t lost my way?
Would you open the door or just watch
from that light soaked porch,
arms crossed, amused that I still can’t
walk straight without knocking something over?
Would you still hug me
if I came over – muddy, uncertain,
a little too human for your clean air?
Ive been trying to learn
how to walk without waiting for a voice
to tell me I did well or that the stars
look better from where you are
I used to trace them from below,
thinking you could see me if I stared long enough.
If I reach out now,
will they even remember my name?
Will they resent me
for taking the easy way out?
If I reach out now,
will you turn and forgive me?
or did I let you down so deeply
that I no longer belong,
no matter how many doors I knock,
none will ever open to you again?
Maybe I should walk a little longer,
Even though my sparks now ash,
no longer the fire you once knew.
Maybe I should walk this night alone,
and forget the path to your lit door.
But what if this walking is the real failure?
And if I finally arrive, steady and changed,
Will you be gone?
Or will you see the distance in my eyes
and call it growth?
Would you just give me a sign?
a single flash of light in the dark sky
to know you’re still watching over,
that you have not given up on me.

Ah Pond 🥺
That was so beautiful . It made me cry, like a child 🥺
So heartfelt.
Every line captivating.
Questioning.
Honest.
We all need to door someone who will be there for us.
Someone will open that door.
Someone believes in us.
Someone will never give up.
In our darkest moments , we need to know, we can find our way home 💕💜
You are a master of weaving words like music 🥰
@Amanda84 Ah thats so kind of you to say Amanda 🥺💜 Im touched. Thank you, truly. And you put it so beautifully yourself *hugs *🫂💓
@Amanda84 PS: Apologies for making you cry… though I cried while writing it too.... so I suppose we can sit in this sadness together for now and then move on to happier days
@azurePond
No apologies needed 💜

@azurePond This feels like something my heart would have said if it had the right words 💗

I never knew quite what to say,
The words would always slip away.
But then I heard your story start
And felt it echo in my heart 💗

Absolutely beautiful and sad with grief at the same time. You wish for these questions to be answered by him and God. I would say he is not worth it if he can't see you for the beautiful person you are. I would say God is there for wisdom and love, but sometimes we have to help ourselves courageously with his blessings.
@RyanGH Thank you RyanGH. You’ve expressed something genuinely profound esp in what you shared about courage. I agree... sometimes God’s blessings arrive not as external answers but as the strength He places within us... the courage to choose our own worth when it isnt recognised by others, and to seek peace even when our questions remain unanswered.
Once again.... thank you for such a thoughtful and heartfelt reflection.
