13/10/25 - Goodbye
Kings and queens still rule the sky,
But I was too weak to even try.
Your hold was fire I couldn’t stay,
I tried to take your pain away.
But healing’s never soft or kind,
The scars and wishbones twist my mind.
I stood where the tracks begin and bend,
Thinking of you, the start, the end.
I dreamed you’d hold my trembling hand,
Kiss me where the shadows stand.
You’re a ghost upon my skin,
A whisper fading deep within.
Will I forget? I think not yet
You’re the light my dark can’t quite forget.
You knew my soul, my every scar,
The faith you had still feels too far.
I miss the way you saw through lies,
But love like ours just never dies.
If you returned, I’d break once more
Some hearts aren’t meant to close that door.
Now I want to build, to give, to mend,
To spread the warmth you couldn’t send.
But I still drown beneath the grey,
The Nether haze won’t fade away.
Your phantom hands still press, still cling,
Threatening to let the darkness in.
Yet I am strong I stand, I grow.
You’re gone for good, I let you go.
So here’s my vow, my last goodbye,
I’ll heal myself, I’ll learn to fly.
And though your echo haunts my shell,
This is my peace—my final farewell.
