Breathing is an ability
Air is meant for everybody
You inhale it in,
You exhale it out.
It's meant to RISE, then quickly fall.
It's free of cost, so it seems,
But although air is free,
Not everyone can breathe.
The air is thin
it dims my mind
It cancels my hymn
for wheezes dined
I cannot eat, I seem to find,
not to breathe has rid of my appetite
This world only,
seeks to find
the air can go
everywhere but to me
in this place
It's hard to breathe.
Is it only
free
free
free
for the people it's meant to be?
Some wise one told me air is free
but only some get the privilege
to breathe
to see
to think
to be.
To be that person who freely breathes
in this place, even in the sea,
would you give your breath
to those who lack it?
A silly question,
air is free, you cannot track it.
(this is experimental, not exactly my favorite, false perspectives)
@twerp
I like it! The language is very descriptive in an intriguing, thought-provoking way, and I like how the "air" can have multiple meanings. It's up to interpretation and I think that's really cool.
@twerp I love this Twerp! This is hauntingly powerful. The way you weave breath as both a physical need and a privilege is deeply thought provoking. The structure—especially the way "free" fades—mirrors the suffocation of inequality. Absolutely stunning and heartbreaking at the same time.
I also love how the verses are placed like molecules in the air—spaced apart, rising and drifting, just like breath itself. Such a beautiful and intentional touch! 💙✨
