Chimes
the wind sways,
carries the leaves
into a new home
past the cherry oak tree,
past the tunnel,
past me.
I want to be
with the leaves
I want to be free
from my tree,
dear wind,
"sway nearby me?"
"No, not yet,
you will see,
you are right where
you're meant to be."
so the wind leaves
and blows away
and I am here
on my tree today.
"maybe tomorrow
I solemnly say,
as I sit in the
setting suns
last final embrace"
day breaks,
the wind is here!
what is this magical sound
I hear?
so to the wind,
I gleefully ask
"where is this sound
what might it be?!"
The wind blows,
"It is the chimes,
the music of me."
To my excitement,
I ask again,
"might I blow away,
with my friends?"
The wind whips,
and lends
me the power
to fly.
I soar great lengths
to my new home
pass the cherry oak tree
past the tunnel,
but to my surprise,
the chimes had subside.
so I grew my tree,
I fostered my own
little leaves,
and watched them
listen to the wind
hear the music,
and still wish
to be free.
(heres some music to listen to while reading- chimes are around 3:45 - https://youtu.be/ialzg6VNm_Y?si=o_qfmD2QYQp7iCIz )
