I don't care much if it hurts

the lack of attention from you

I never sought after your embrace

when you robbed me of it

but that seldom feeling

which destroys me from the inside out

when I come face to face with you

there is a feeling that utterly kills me.

There is a feeling of love.

I cannot deny the amount of times you have hurt me

stained me down to my core with ugly colors,

ones even I find hard to adore.

But there is no denying you are the one who raised me

you're supposed to be, you are, my father.

and as much as I like to pretend not to care much for it

my roots are who I look for.
