Dreams
When Young, we dream
And through our Twenties chase
The Phantoms of our making
Till Life slows its pace
My Brother loved Illusions,
Worlds, within a Screen
So vivid, he forgot reality
He studied,
Shape and Color
To carve, a Mark of Name
But doors, stayed shut to Talent,
And Effort turned to Flame
When our Parents aged soft with years
He folded his dreams
Like shirts in the cupboard
Tucked them away
And took a Desk of Government
To labor through the day
Human Hearts are Weather
They shift from Sun to Snow
We live, in Dreams a Thousand
And lose more than we know
What happens to the Broken,
The Ones that never came?
Do Angels thread them softly as beads
Into another’s Name?
Or do they drift in Ether
Like Bubbles lost to Sea
Until a Madperson finds them
And claims their Destiny
I wonder what Birds imagine
In Slumber, soft and deep
And what my Cat was Dreaming
In her Eternal Sleep
They say, our Pets are Chapters
But we their Whole Design
You, were Loved beyond
Forever and for Mine
So quietly, it hurt
@eatingpopcorns
So beautiful.
Captivating.
Honest.
Softly reflective, questioning, the wonder of life that we lose along the way, the curiosity, the fulfilment, the monotony of routine 💜💕
