Flowers for my bed
The round clock on my wall keeps on ticking.
The blinding lights clicking.
A cold breeze follows as the window of my heart breaks open.
An apple falls from the table, my eyes widen.
There you are, brimming with youth and life.
With you, a pot of nature so blissful
Put it on my side, be careful.
These cold hands of mine, they startle your soul.
As you wait for the sun to set, the wolves to howl.
It's time, you knew it was.
That's why you smiled, cried, voice shaking like shattered glass.
The seeds I gave you, planted in the garden, the back of your head.
You bring them to me, now, as flowers for my bed.
I said all that I could, gave all I should, or at least tried.
The eyes once alive, now like the trees, dried.
You don't have to cry or ask why,
Let those flowers be our last goodbye.
@SyriusSystem such a beautiful heartbreaking poem 🥲 the life that grew but now it's his time to leave us🥲 I hope the person in your poem moves on to a better place 💖
