Gothic Shadows

In a dark, abandoned castle where cobwebs sing,

 And bats wear crowns like noble kings,

 The moon plays tricks with shadows tall,

 And skeletons waltz through the dark, marble halls.

The gargoyles gossip, hardened as stones and sly,

 While ravens crow from the sky.

 A vampire yawns and says, “It’s nearly dawn.”

 He sips his tea, then, in a sudden and unexpected turn, stifles a yawn.

Ghosts parade in velvet lace,

 Each one with a hollow, eerie smiling face.

 They twirl through halls with eerie cheers,

 Whispering jokes you’ll never quite get to hear.

So if you stumble upon this night,

 Where darkness grows but hearts feel light,

 Don’t fear the gloom, don’t try to run,

 Gothic shadows can still be fun.

@Oliviadabest

Occasionally, to be honest. Or when the mood to write strikes.
