I Wrote this when I was Frustrated at a Friend

I had one friend

Who apologized to me

But they didn't know

It's true meaning

After betrayal

They acted as if nothing

Yet I ended up falling,

Deceitful cunning

The words of apology

To get me off their back

But that single Sorry

Truth, it lacked

It isn't a single word

To make the drama end

It is the simple action

Of not doing it again

They hurt the trust I grievingly lack

Burnt under the rising sun

But after it all, they still came back

After all the damage was done
