I saw a line of ants

I saw a line of ants

walking back to back

each carrying a green leaf

larger than their bodies.

Such effort, such purpose

and not a single one

stopped to complain

Later, a white worm

curved through the soil.

Its back held perfect grooves

brown and spotted like tiny trees.

I notice these things

the small, the nameless,

the quiet miracles.

Tiny flowers in bloom

faces I do not know.

I wish I knew their names

but I call them 'flowers'.

Just as we call a group of strangers

'people or person'

And today,

I looked up from my thoughts,

noticed myself

in the soft light of morning

and for once,

being here

did not feel like

a bad place

to be

@eatingpopcorns

Ah,

What a cute, unleashed, poetic poem about the gift of creation.

The ordinariness of the ant, mixed in with the extraordinary work they do.

This put a huge smile on my face.

I love your writing style 🥰
