Let go of me

I’m so getting used

I’m not an object

Get your hands off of me

How do I stop it?

I’m more than just a body

Yet I feel like it’s all I can be

A useless object being grabbed and tossed

Let go of my body

There’s more to me than that

Can I ever been see as more than that?

Like me for who I am

Not what I am

I know my worth

So why am I afraid?

It’s all trauma

Never able to escape

My heart is pounding

My thoughts spiraling

No ones here

No ones near

I want to be safe

Please leave me be

I must be free

Stop holding me

I need to breathe

Let me be

@Ana2024 This poem is so raw and moving. The emotion in every line is so powerful, especially the way you describe wanting to be seen as more than just an object. It’s a heartbreaking yet hopeful cry for recognition and peace. I truly hope you’re okay, and I just want to say, you are more than enough. Keep finding your voice and hold on to your worth—your words matter, and they’re being heard. And I want you to know that your words are not just heard, but also felt deeply.
Take care.

I feel AzurePond has already expressed so eloquently how intense the emotions come through in your piece. It's confrontational, yet almost pleading tone cannot fail to elicit sympathy and a sadness of behalf of the author. The last line was sheer brilliance, three simple words that tied together the whole poem and yet carry such complexity; On the one hand a demand to be left alone "Let me be!",  yet can also be seen in the light of being a statement able to be allowed to be oneself "Let ME be" or even just to simply exist "Let me BE", or even asking for allowance for one true self to be seen "LET me be". Three small words perfectly chosen.

@Ana2024

It was a piece so filled with emotions and having to constantly grapple between what and who you are- is so distressing and saddening! I believe Knight and Azure did you justice..as you poem is not only a well written critical piece but also tugs at emotions. Sometimes all we want is to just simply exist but in entirety that is complex. I too hope you are faring well..<3
