Poem: Where Have You Gone
Where have you gone, beloved child?
You may have been lost but never exiled.
Your loving soul now haunts my dreams,
Dreams so perfectly sewn, seam by seam.
Where have you gone, where have you gone?
Your ashes spread beneath the tree,
Your weary soul can now be free.
Let your troubles vanish like snow—
Bittersweet, like raw cocoa.
Where have you gone, where have you gone?
The wind blows through the peaceful meadow I wish you’d lain.
But then again your soul was too wild a thing in a casket to stay.
Your last breath’s the last time I took a breath of fresh air,
But alas, you were too far gone to care.
Where have you gone, where have you gone?
Curse that balcony from whence you jumped that night—
You took the devil’s bark, but we all took his bite.
In peaceful meadows I know you now lie,
By the side of the one who gave you life.
Where have you gone, where have you gone?
@GenevieveMattevi that’s really pretty but in like a creepy way. Did you write it?
This is beautiful
This is beautiful
@GenevieveMattevi
It’s so raw, honest, and so real.
It really is heartbreakingly beautiful.
