Second wind

Somedays i can smile

Recalling days, that stretched a while,

When life went on, against my plea,

And thank the strength that carried me.

For in that onward, steady stream,

A future bloomed, a hopeful dream,

And glad I am, that life did choose,

To carry on, despite the blues.

And maybe someday, through the healing haze,

I'll see the wisdom in those weary days.

One day, I'll understand the grind

And find some solace in the second wind

@Ink123 What a wonderful poem! I love how you express strength in such a subtle yet powerful way. The way you captured the ebb and flow of life, especially with lines like "A future bloomed, a hopeful dream," -- It’s a wonderful reminder of resilience and the quiet strength that carries us through. The line "And find some solace in the second wind" really stood out to me—a beautiful reminder of the hope that comes after hardship. Truly inspiring!

@Ink123

Excellently done. That was such a soft, and serene piece that speaks of hope without deny the challenges and tribulations one must often endure before the journey is complete. I think the rhyme scheme is perfectly chosen for giving the impression of the flowing, undulating waters of the stream. I love how the three stanzas are thematically intertwined yet each has a distinct timeframe 'The was, the Is, and the Will be'. It is really lovely seeing such gentle poems. I think we all need to read more like it once in a while to keep us hopeful.

Hi @BastionKnight , it's wonderful to know  how any peom talks to it's readers. I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts. I too feel that life is aix of good and bad moments. With any one of them missing , it feels incomplete. Glad you like the rhymee scheme , thank you for noticing! Do you write poems ?

@Ink123

This is brief yet powerful. The message I feel anyone could relate too, especially on 7 cups. Personally, I've been there, Ink, maybe we all have. Maybe we all are; everyday. Well done. ❤️
