Small salves

An ache I cannot name,
a heaviness that resurfaces
Just like dried scars
it waits at corners, plays peekaboo.
I reach for the rope,
the end runs away from me.
Then the familiar blue bird sings
melancholy for company.
Poems and songs, the small salves.
I don't speak much.
When you call my name, it fades.
I've given heart and soul so long
I cannot tell them apart.

There's something perfectly haunting about your words.
The darkness peek's in, playing games, tormenting us.
But we always find solace in hope, solace in silence, solace in time .
Your words weave a tone of sadness patterned with steel .
Thank you for sharing!
