Birthday Week: Poems
Do you have a favorite poem you would like to share with us in honor of our community' 7th Birthday? 💝
We invite you to post them here and we will all be looking forward to reading! 💜

Here's to the everyday heroes,
The volunteers who do what they can,
To ease the suffering of others,
And be of service to their fellow man.
May they know the true satisfaction
That comes from helping others
Less fortunate than themselves,
But no less their sisters and brothers.
May they feel the gratitude in our hearts
For all of the good that they've done.
The appreciation that we all feel for them
Is truly second to none.

🌸 Morning Tea with 7 Cups
Fruits and leaves ,some flowers too ,but more of fruits ,
the perfect combination of blooming flowers and the fruits : you and me on a subtle base of Ceylon and China teas - cherry , Oolong ,strawberries , peach , orange , raspberries and jasmine
The perfect cup of tea with seven different flavors .
And outside , our window scattered
cherry blossoms pink petals 🌸

BY EMILY DICKINSON
Hope is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -
And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard -
And sore must be the storm -
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm -
Ive heard it in the chillest land -
And on the strangest Sea -
Yet - never - in Extremity,
It asked a crumb - of me.

Rain and Wind by Trevor West
Raindrops on this page
Wind blows my paper away
Oh crap! I need that!

My favourite poem is written by someone who used to be a listener here at 7cups.
I didnt get the chance to talk to them much (with me aging up so soon and them leaving) but that doesnt stop me from saying that they are one of the incredible people I have met here, they are just amazing. I miss them muchh. Maybe you know them, their name was helpfularrow6093 (they were called Katniss-Marie Victoria-Green Arrow by really close buddies).
So what makes this poem special and stand out in my heart from all the thousand other poems i have read, even studied/ byhearted over years? Its the way how i relate to it and connect so deeepp to every single word in it.
Yesterday you asked me
how are you I said I'm fine
but can't you see that I lied
drank another bottle of wine
just to hide all the pain inside
tears all over my eyes again
keep telling myself it's okay
I'll just try to numb my brain
so I could live another day
sometimes things get blurry
so I cry myself goodnight
still don't want you to worry
so I keep saying I'm alright
but deep down I'm hoping
you'll just look into my eyes
and see I'm not really coping
time flies but life is full of lies
but I guess you're just blind
to see the scars on my soul
I guess after time I won't mind
But for now I'll play my role
smile and just say I'm fine
without telling you the truth
that what it really means is that
I'm dying inside so stop asking
and just hold me in your arms.
