Feeling Blah? 5 Tips to Help Get You Out of Your Funk

"We all have days where we are feeling a little less than motivated. Here are some tricks that I use, and you can too, to help get you out of your funk:
- Do something you love. Feelings of joy will combat your feelings of blah, so go to battle and do what you can to turn your mood around.
- Remind yourself. It can sometimes be challenging, but try to focus on all of the good things that are going on in your life and career.
- Focus on the big picture. Sure, there are a lot of mundane tasks that you are engaging in throughout the day, but they are tasks that you must complete in order to get to the fun stuff.
- Manifest something more exciting. Whenever I am not happy with what I’m doing or want to get to someplace else, I make a list. It can be a list of where you see yourself in 6 months, or a list of your ideal day.
- Give Yourself a Pass. When all else fails, just give yourself a pass. Maybe it’s an off day and your body just really needs a break. "

Reflection:
Have you ever had a terrible slump where you had no motivation to do anything? How did you manage to overcome it?
*I usually go into burn-out slumps quite often. I'm actively trying to remind myself to take breaks to prevent them. Sometimes with enough self-care and breaks, I manage to overcome the slump but sometimes the slump takes over and I'm rendered powerless."*

@comfortableNight4463 I go through them fairly often too and i try to get as much as i can done so i feel better
@zealousGrace5023 Same! I tend to feel better once I've completed a task. Than I get enough motivation for the next.
@comfortableNight4463 Yeah exactly!
@zealousGrace5023 That's great!
@comfortableNight4463 I definitely am with you on that! I experience them sometimes and when I'm in the middle of one, it's hard to break out of it. I definitely feel that I have to ride it out and just be kind to myself in the process ❤️ Thank you for sharing! :)
And if I don't love anything?
And nothing exites
@comfortableNight4463
Yes, it happens to me like once every month. Where I feel incredibly de-motivated to do anything and even simple things that I usually enjoy feels meaningless. It's not long-lived but it does affect they way I look at pleasurable things since they all seem to blend into "meh" feeling.
@professionalVision2624 I feel the same. For me, usually they come up after a long period of stress. Usually, winding down and watching a good TV show helps.
@comfortableNight4463
I agree! I good tv-show can really do wonders in making us "come back to reality" and get in touch with our emotions!
@professionalVision2624 Exactly! Ironically, watching horror TV shows calms me down the most.
@comfortableNight4463
Wow! That's intersting <3 I can imagine there is some sort of reverse pshychology that makes you feel calmer after watching a scary tv-show!

Have you ever had a terrible slump where you had no motivation to do anything? How did you manage to overcome it?
I experience this when I "pour from an empty cup" so to speak. When I juggle too many goals and responsibilities at once, I put so much commitment and passion towards it that I won't even sleep until I've fulfilled everything for everyone else but myself. Although my intentions are pure, I have to take care of myself before I can offer care to someone else. I practice a healthy balance of prioritizing and boundaries as a way to overcome and further prevent this.
I get both slumped and burned out during my PMS and menstruation week.
@ThoughtBubbleExpess i understand i'm the same its very frustrating
It just feels so exhausting all emotionally, mentally and physically. Whenever I tried to talk to my doctor about it, they said it's “normal”. 😩🙄
