Kind-Hearted Karma
Helloo everybody! We have a wonderful Self-Interview by the amazing Karma!
Interviewee: @KarmaTheRascal
What are your personal goals and what helps you progress towards achieving those goals?
Some of my personal goals are to attend college to get my MBA (Master’s of Business Administration). I would like to start my own business, and get my own car eventually. What helps me progress towards achieving these goals is the motivation from others, especially when they say “hey good job.” or “hey keep it up.” Yea it may seem like small words but it matters, and it helps, especially when they say it meaningfully and not just saying it. Self motivation is a big part as well, if you don’t have self motivation how will anyone else help you to be motivated? They won’t. I feel self- confidence is a key in this as well. If you don’t have confidence in yourself then you’re not going to want to do anything.
What do you hope to achieve in the next one year?
I hope to achieve becoming a manager at my job, and getting into a college in the next one year (or sooner). I say or sooner because hopefully I can get accepted into a college before a year goes by! I am graduating this year, 2023!
Which quality is the most important in a human being and why?
The quality that I find the most important in a human being is honesty. I feel honesty is the one thing that can make or break family, friendships, relationships, etc. Honesty is very important because you’re not going to want to live or talk to someone you can’t trust. Or even working with someone, you don’t want to work with someone you can’t trust. Honesty is important because say later you’re 30 and need to call your parents for help, let's say money, and they don’t trust you about what the money's for, they are not going to give you the money, because they don’t trust you. If your family can’t trust you then who really can?
What general tips do you have for overcoming struggles and challenges of life?
Some general tips I have for overcoming struggles and the challenges of life are to never let life take you over. Meaning don’t give up and keep going. I know there will be hurdles, struggles, difficulties, and so on. You can not give up, you really have to keep going no matter how hard it gets. If you feel overwhelmed, take a breath and talk to someone. Don’t be afraid to vent to someone. I was in a very bad situation a while ago, we almost lost our home, almost lost everything we owned, we lost our car, we lost a family member, all at once this happened. We were too poor for the house (we were renting) and car payments, insurance payments, and the funeral. (by we I mean my family) anyways we got over it, we kept going and we didn’t let it stop us from doing anything. Look, we are in a way better spot than we were because we didn’t stop, we didn’t give up, we kept going. You have to remember to do this as well!
What's self-honesty and how can one practice it?
Self honesty is keeping it real with yourself. For example if you’re on a diet and you’re telling your family you only ate a bowl of cereal and a granola bar, but really you ate a bowl of cereal, a granola bar, some skittles, and some chips. You’re only lying to yourself. One can practice self honesty by sticking to their morals, values, and goals. Don’t sell out to be “friends” with someone. Our morals could be honesty, respect, kindness, sharing, hard work, gratitude, etc. The list goes on (those are some of mine). You don’t want to break those with someone, that is not self honesty. I feel breaking those is just breaking a piece of yourself off. If that makes sense. Some values consist of kindness, loyalty, integrity, honesty, compassion. If you break these you lose your self honesty. Your morals and values I feel kind of reflect your self honesty. (If I don’t make sense I'm sorry).
What can one do to bring the best out of fellow human beings?
One can help others to bring the best out of fellow human beings. You know if you see a man on the ground, don’t kick him, help him. Helping is one of the few things that we can do to bring the best out of ourselves.
What is your idea of a successful or satisfactory life?
My idea of a successful or a satisfactory life is accomplishing everything you wanted to, or most. You know you are retired, you can do whatever you want. I’d say traveling. Go explore some stuff. If you are settled in, done working/retired, and accomplished your goals, that is a successful or satisfactory life.
