Become a Special Events Representative!

In order to create special events, the Special Events Organisers reach out to and gain the support and help of a multitude of listeners, many of which include team members. However, in order to improve our connections as well as celebrate and commemorate more observances, a Collaboration spreadsheet was created.

Since this has happened and since the creation of the new community track, this idea has been expanded on. Now this spreadsheet is being reworked on to go beyond special events organised by Organisers. The aim of the spreadsheet is now to support each other's team and project activities by collaborating together with any group that is working on an activity. E.g., the Appreciation Committee have had the Appreciation Festival, the Book Club have had writing competitions, the Birthday Project have monthly parties, etc. In these events taking place, various teams can (if possible) think of ways to support their efforts in engaging the community by synchronising their activities.

For example, if the Appreciation Committee are having an Appreciation Festival, the SWAT team may encourage their members to take part by making an extra effort to spread their cheerleading ways around the forums, the Book Club may do discussions on stories or poems related to appreciation, Social Soldiers may spread those vibes to social media, and the Feed Team could dedicate a day or so to show their support for their Awareness Track… and so on!

What is a special events representative?

Special Events representatives focus on engaging their teams in celebrating observances and events on 7 Cups. They coordinate and manage the Collaborations spreadsheet on behalf of whatever team they are on. This is in order to effectively communicate the activities of the team or project they are representing with other teams and projects on 7 Cups. They also possibly lead these activities, depending on the arrangement with the leaders (if applicable).

What does the role involve?

This role involves keeping up-to-date with observances and events going on (across all teams) on 7 Cups. You will be able to see what events other teams or projects are doing and getting involved with, as well as share your project or team's activities. By seeing and sharing what's happening on the website, you can easily collaborate or connect with other groups to make the best of whatever events you have in store!

If you have a project leader, your involvement as a representative will be outlined for you by your leader. For example, you may need to report to them about what your group can get involved with, as well as bring ideas for what you can do forward. If you do not have a project leader, you may be taking this initiative on your own and plan things for team members as part of your project or team to do.

This may also involve tracking the activities and how the event went, depending on your team/project.

Requirements:

Active member of your team or project for one month+.
Previous experience in helping with special events on 7 Cups for your team or any other's.
Feel confident in your ability to use spreadsheets (which is a must).

Please note: Team leaders are a part of this application process.
