Whats the best gift youve ever received?
"My boyfriend."
"Time"
"my electric bike"
1.We all have memories of our best gift we have ever received, what about the best gift you have ever given?
"It's gotta be me"
"The best gift I ever gave was literally myself. I went to stay with a relative for good and it was her birthday that day."
"the best gift I think I gave n received appreciation is paintin for my mum n dadz 25th anniversary which I painted myself... also a surprise cake for a friend who never celebrated bday that way"
"Friendship is a great gift"
2.Do you consider yourself a giver, a receiver, or are you pretty equal? How did you make your decision?
"I would say equal. I feel like that is fair and healthy."
"Depends on the opportunities"
"am pretty much a giver i always give without reciving and am not talking about money"
"I don't think of it as giving because I get enjoyment out of doing what I do. I spend time as a listener because it's just as much for me as it is for my members - I get such a kick out of making someone's night better!"
"It's the same with friends. I do things because I value our friendship. I know I'll get it paid back in both tangible ways and also just by having a stronger friendship."
"So in that sense I give a lot, but I give cuz I also see everything as receiving some benefit ^-^"
"oh snap...i might be receiver...i receive so much loving from everyone...not sure if i give back equally..i assume i do but..i am sure i can give back more much more"
"a mixture of Both"
3.What does it mean to give?
"it means to think of others and to get satisfaction of making someone feel happy"
"For me giving means to help."
"To offer your time, to offer something of value to someone ....Even if only "love" or caring or friendship or a listening ear....It doesn't have to be material."
"To me, it means expressing yourself. Your gift demonstrates what you think of them and how you really feel"
4.Does giving always have to involve something tangible
What are some intangible things you can give?
"not all the time... tangble things aren't always the things that matter"
"Time is good"
"Intangible things include your time, empathy and love."
"love, time, appreciation, hope, smile, care, peace, reason to live"
5.Do you think that one form of giving is more appreciable than the other? Why or why not?
"Yeahhh"
"Depends on the person or situation."
"nah i don't giving is the same"
"Yes, giving can be done through different mediums. Each medium varies."
6.How do you feel when someone gives you something?
How do you feel when you give something to someone else?
"presently i feel sentimental if someone gives something... if i give i feel happy"
"I feel great either way....but I love to give and make someone feel good."
"Someone gives me something I feel awkward, guilty and embarrassed. When I give something, I feel all fluffy and happy inside."
"I feel a bit bashful when others give me things, because I just don't ever think about it. But I feel really great when I give others things, especially things they need."
"I feel weak. I don't know. I feel very grateful to that person and for his help"
"Giving and help someone made me happy"
7.What are the benefits of giving for you and the receiver?
Are there any possible negatives to giving?
"benifits we get closer to each other i guess"
"Negatives are the person receiving doesn't deserve it, and it might not be reciprocated"
"A benefit is knowing that you made a possible difference to the other person. Negatives could be when you give to much"
"Benefits are you feel good about what you did for someone else and they feel good. But it could backfire in a negative way if they don't want or like what you give them."
"It greatly depends. There are negatives surely, if the receiver will become dependent on you even when they can help themselves. Other than that I think giving helps build a positive relationship."
8.Do you always need a reason to give? Why or why not?
Can you think of a time when you gave something without expecting anything in return?
"No you don't need a reason...it should be genuine and from the heart"
"There's only one time I would say you'd need a reason to give; when you've just met someone. Could you imagine walking up to a stranger and going "I bought you this"
"there is always a reason... either u love someone so much you wanna make them happy or you want to mix up with people or you want to restart in some situations"
"But what if its a Christmas time ....at a nursing home or a hospital......those are strangers and you don't need a reason"
9.How important is it to give back? Why?
"For me, extremely. As I said before, it helps me express myself in ways I cannot. It's also polite if someone gets you something."
"It is absolutely important for me to give back in the form of gratitude."
"giving back is important as it's a way to show appreciation, and gratitude"
"It's rather important. If people can trust each other to selflessly give their time or services or whatnot, therein creates a sense of community"
10.Can you give some examples of times when we should give back?
Are there times we shouldnt give back? Can you give examples?
"I think we should always give back if possible. To a different thing or the source itself."
"When it's appropriate, I guess, or when it feels right. Like, if someone has provided something for you in the past (a home, a meal, or even just a bit of their time)."
11.Challenge time! Whats something you can do to give back today?
"I'm working now so I'm giving my company that"
"well being here is kind of giving back isn't it"
"I helped my father with his business today."
"taking on general requests"
"Help someone in trouble"
"Help anyone in need"
"To give back today I'll probably give my boyfriend tonnes of hugs."
"Actually, I just remembered I've been meaning to bring care packages to the homeless folks in my woods"
