What Helps You Pause During Difficult Moments
Hello💜
Today I found myself thinking about how important those small “pause” moments can be when things feel overwhelming.
Sometimes it’s a grounding technique, sometimes it’s reaching out to someone, and sometimes it’s simply taking a breath and giving ourselves a moment of space. These pauses can be incredibly powerful in recovery, even if they feel small.
I'd love to hear some of your examples of what helps you pause during these moments!😊
“What are some things that help you pause when you’re having a difficult moment?”
It could be a grounding tool, a comforting thought, a distraction, or anything that helps you slow things down. I’ll also share some of mine below.
I look forward to hearing your messages💜

I like to go for a long walk, and sit , listening to music, this stops the overwhelming feelings, and thoughts crowding my head.
I like having space to cry and process.
And not feeling judged.
Or have to explain myself.
The fresh air helps.
And the beauty of nature allows me to just remind myself , it'll pass 💛
@Amanda84 I love this, thank you for sharing 💜 Long walks can definitely help to distract ourselves from the overwhelming feels and release some of the anxious energy. I also love listening to music to help decompress!
Allowing yourself time and space to feel the emotions, and process whatever is happening is also so important. We all need the space to be able to release the feelings in a place that is non-judgmental and where you don't need to justify the emotions.
You've got this, thank you for sharing your methods to pause!
Sending virtual hugs!
Emma
