I'm trying out a new type of post ! Since I enjoy checking in with you guys and sharing thoughts, quotes, music, etc, I thought of starting a sort of weekly workshop. The main idea is to create a safe space for you to share anything artsy that you enjoy at the moment : quote, art, painting, drawing, song, photo, poem, movie, book, object ... It can be something that you've found or something that you've created, related to self harm or not. These posts can be a place where we can let out some thoughts, discover new stuff or just rant if that's what you feel like doing :) I'll mainly post over the weekends but you're free to add your little (or big) something over the week. Each post will have a theme, though whatever you wish to share doesn't have to be related to that. I'll always share a few things that I enjoy, you're free to only check them out or suggest your own. And if you just want to pop in to say hi, that's fine too :)

For this week, the theme is movement. There are many different meanings, here are some that I found interesting :
- the suggestion or illusion of motion in a painting, sculpture or design
- the rhythmical or metrical structure of a poetic composition
- in music, a self contained section of a extended composition.

Great idea! Loving it!
For some reason Van Gogh's style has always made me think of movement (maybe partly because of watching the Doctor Who episode about Van Gogh) Starry Night is the one that makes me think the most about movement, it's like I can see it move!
As for my definition of movement, I'm not too sure. I mostly have in head the basic scientific definition of it, with the Newton's laws and all... But I'd say that movement in life is going forward, actually just going, movement isn't related to destination (to me at least), you might not know where you're heading, but you're still moving!
Woodkid - Volcano also makes me think of movement, like something's happening, but it may be personal!

Ah yeah Starry Night is pretty cool ! I get how you can see it move ;) Though I have to say that I like it more for the colours than the movement, don't ask me why, I don't know :)
Hum I like the difference between moving forward and just moving. As many people say, it's the journey that counts not the destination, right ? I suppose if we focus too much on the destination then we can't enjoy the journey.
I get you on that song, there some sort of pace to it. I guess it has to do with the beats changing rhythm and those ascending and desceding instruments in the background ! Mind you I know nothing about music so yeah x) My favorite song from Woodkid has to be Run Boy Run which would be fitting for this weeks theme also x)

For colours I also really love this one : (wheat field with cypresses, or something) Van Gogh's skies just have so many beautiful colours! Plus when you see them in paintings in a museum, you can really see the texture due to the amount of paint!
Totally agreed on jouney vs destination, especially because I don't know my destination so I can't really focus on it :p
Oh yes, Run Boy Run, how could I not think of this one when it comes to movement!
