A new way to look at it
Tw: self harm
I had a rough day today, and it led to me losing my streak of 83 days, which sucked. I reached out to a crisis counselor about it, and they said some really interesting things.
Instead of thinking of it as "how many days since it happened", think of it more like "how many days have I not self harmed in my life?" This may not be the best way to look at it for everyone, but it seems really interesting to me. I've undeniably self harmed on many less days than I have done it on. And thinking about it like that is helping me get over losing my "streak".
And guys, reaching out to a crisis counselor is a really good thing to do if you feel like you want to harm or you've harmed and you're feeling upset about it. There are many resources online, and they can be great helps!!
I have no idea if this will be read by anyone or appreciated in the same way I appreciate it, but if one person is helped in any capacity by this, that would be my mission complete.
