How to stop it

I am 25M currently living alone. I have been self harming myself for a long time now. Life is too hectic and I don't get time to process how I feel. So even if a small fight occurs with family or girlfriend(ldr), I tend to hurt myself or take it out on nearby things(yesterday I broke my phone).

Recently I got into a fight with my gf and it was a very small issue. But I get so worked up that I feel like this is the end of the world and I just want to end everything. I tried to control so hard not to harm myself but it gets too difficult to stop.

I am not sure if this is an anger issue(because I don't get angry much) but I always try to self harm. Even when things are going good I don't feel anything. I don't recognize myself as in my childhood I was a very happy and enthu kid. I just want this to stop and don't know who to reach to.

@ultraxmaroon

Hello, I used to sh and looking back I understand why I did it so often back then. I lacked the necessary skills to deal with many of life's struggles. Fast forward 15 years: I have been to more than 100 different groups on all types of subjects, like grief and loss of loved ones, to anger management, and addiction, etc.. I have learned how to process many of life's ups and downs in healthy ways, I still have 2 counselors and I attend 2 Art therapy online classes. It's surprising to me how much Art Therapy has taught me about myself, and now I have a host of coping skills, and I use 7cups very often for the past few years. I still have my difficult days, but now I write poems as a way to help me figure out my struggles. Art, poetry, therapy, and 7cups are my most helpful learning tools. Draw a heart to remind yourself that you deserve love, and remind yourself that self-care is the most important things we need to do to allow ourselves to be honest with ourselves. I went through the loss of my daughter which took me a couple years to finally understand and process that. I lost everything and my wife hooked up with a friend, plus I have severe ptsd from the war time in 1982. I knew I had no skills back then! It was the hardest times of my life. Tag me any time. Be sure to look for Listeners here on 7cups. Get several and be open and honest with yourself and your listeners. You will recover!! It's all about learning and understanding our emotions. Coping skills coping skills.

Take good care
