@joyfulRecipe8155

I'm proud you are healing and taking it one day at a time.

Focus on your healing but let her know, how good it is for you, that stopping is possible, healing is possible 💕💜

Hi there!

Recovered girl here. First of all, im happy for you, that you choose the path of healing. Its a big deal!

For your friend: i think, the first step is to find an alternative. Selfharm makes the illusion of control, the illusion of feeling human, but its fake. It channels sadness, guilt and anger back. Thats an endless cycle. Talk to him/her about that. If he/she want to break this cycle, he/she needs to channel these emotions elsewhere. Arts, crafts, writing a diary, heavy music, sport, even shouting. Other method, that i think is worth to try, is to make it like a magic ritual. Write down everything negative, or draw it , and then destroy that peace of paper: pierce it, torn it to small pieces, burn it, etc. The urge to harm can be really strong, but if you have the power to cause such harm to yourself, you have the power the transform it!
