Self harm urges
TRIGGER WARNING (tools and extreme details mentioned)
My recent self harm urges are really scaring me. I've been self harm free for 66 days, but the urges have gotten really bad in the past week. My mom took away my tools awhile ago, but I have something that I could use. All the thoughts I've been having won't go away, and they are super extreme, (Triggering thoughts below)
where I envision myself slashing into my thigh and making a gaping wound that would need stitches. I have needed stitches before, so I understand the consequences of this, but the thoughts just wont go away. Any advice?

I understand this exact thing I am a new adult and currently In a mental hospital for self harm actually just came from the medical hospital not too long ago for stitches....I hate that your going through this when I say I understand is because I still have thoughts everyday and I'm trying which I feel since you shared I feel like your trying as well .self harm is an addiction like a drug looking for relief or pain some other physical pain instead of focusing on the mental pain.
I wish I could tell you everything will be alright but I don't think that is true everyday is a struggle its just how we deal with it. I wish you luck and love that one day for both of us we get somewhere we don't need this urge anymore
sending hugs🫂
@tryinglittleaudrey Thanks for the support. I have been in the mental hospital 5 times, and a lot of it was because of self harm. Im 16, and I often worry I will never get over this addiction. It is comforting to know at least I'm not the only one who struggles. <3
@treefrog1234 Ive been in the meantl hospital one time for commiting self harm I honestly don't know if I'll do it again :p
