Ive been clean for 1 month approximately now, and I just relapsed in a span of two weeks this month. I get triggered looking at blades/sharpeners but Ican't bring myself to stop. I feel super guilty because Ive tried to stop because I know God doesn't want this for me, but I just continue to do so. I'm not entirely sure if I could walk out of this one with a clean conscience.

@junethea55

I'm really sorry you are struggling.

Relapsing doesn't take away from your previous month, and the work you put in.

You can get there again.

It's about one day at a time.

Thank you so much for sharing your vulnerability 💜💖

God doesn't want you to hurt yourself but he also understands everything about you and the troubles you have. He loves you and always will. Don't get to thinking he is angry with you; all he wants is your well-being and for you to go to Him for comfort directly or through other people.

Hey there! I'm really proud of you for not self harming for a month. Don't forget to give yourself some credit for how hard you're working! I hear how hard it can be when you see triggers around you, and how your mind seems to latch on to those items. It’s difficult to say no to something when you’re frequently reminded of it.

Sometimes it can help having a list of things to help cope with the urges or get your mind off of self harm. I know how hard it can be when you’re actively having urges to think of anything else. Some people find it helpful to have their hands busy; tearing paper, having a fidget toy. A good skill to have is getting your hands on something cold. Holding ice, taking a cold shower, throwing ice (at pavement, in the bathroom) and really focusing on that cold sensation. Even having a disposable ice pack that you can break when you need it if you’re out of the house.

I’m proud of you for all the work you’re doing to not self harm. Every time you say no is a win, and it sounds like you’ve racked up a lot of wins! Relapse happens, but it doesn’t mean all those wins no longer count. You are amazing, and this stranger is proud of you!

Having controlled yourself for one complete month is great progress. Don't loss your hope because you relapsed once, for you had not relapsed for a whole month. There are many great things to see in life yet.

God is always with you and he will guide you out of this situation.
