So Idk if this is considered cutting yourself, I make cuts on my arms with safety pins, paper clips, and thumbtacks. Idk if that is cutting myself or not or if it's even self-harm. I was wondering if someone could tell me if it is cutting myself or even self-harm.

Hi there! this would be considered self harm. im so sorry you are going through this. it’s not easy. do you have any distractions or hobbies that would help you prevent that?

you are not alone and there are many people here that will support you.

I would like to mention to you that you can call and speak to the crisis line or text 988 to get some help if you need it.

@sleepysalem

Ik this might sound odd, but when I put a hair tie, bracelet, or rubber band on my wrist and fidget with it, it distracts me. But lately, it hasn't been working. I'm trying to find new distractions though.

@Sophieswiftie13 Hey, it sounds like you're dealing with something pretty heavy. Yeah, what you're describing—making cuts on your arms with safety pins, paper clips, and thumbtacks—definitely falls under self-harm. It might not be using a blade, but it's still hurting yourself intentionally, which is tough to deal with. It's a sign that you're going through some tough stuff, and it's okay to reach out for help. Talking to someone—a friend, family member, or therapist—could really help you work through what's going on. You don't have to go through this alone, alright?
