Trying to figure out if this is a form of self harm
TW: disordered eating
I normally lose my appetite when anxious or stressed, which has caused me to have disordered eating in the past. But recently it's felt like less of a lack of appetite and more of a desire to starve. It isn't weight related, I'm currently trying to gain weight, so it has nothing to do with that. It feels like I want to make myself suffer, even though I also really just wanna have a meal.
Has anyone else had any experience with this?
@Thesaurusaurus
I'm sorry you want to make yourself suffer 😔
You need to get to the root as of why?
Please be gentle on yourself and look into your relationship with yourself and with food and see if you need to talk to a professional before it takes root! 💜💕
Im sorry this is happening to you.
I can tell you from both perspectives of having ED and still struggling with it that restricting yourself from food even if loosing weight is not your intention yes it is a way of self harm.
I used to do this to punish myself, when I felt unworthy of food, when everything became too much like you said stress and anxiety are big factors here.
You deserve that meal that you want, or crave and you are not alone in this. Every bite you take and meal you eat is a step closer to success and gradually the desire to start will pass if you will work on yourself and the problems you are facing.
If you need anything im here and sending you lots of support❤️
