Happy place
When I was younger I had this dream
Now I know how funny it would seem
Guys in pink and girls in blue
Never ever could that be true
Balloons and ribbons, back when colors weren't forbidden
Careless and free, so self ridden
But for someone like me, life just felt extraordinary
So merry
Exactly like fiction for many
Unfortunately, for the older me, these colours were bright and shiny
But in a way only I could see
It was my happy place, the paper and the color
The paper, still there, but the color is nowhere to be seen
My mind and this pallete have something in common, so empty and barren
Would it really be a sin if they both long for some kin?
Green skies and blue grass
Brown leaves and green stalks
Black flowers and purple rain
That color that didn't stain
When really, all these efforts are in vain
All those colors down that drain
It's only red now, the color of my blood but atleast I could still see color yall
Maybe that's what growing up is about
Color blindness I assume
Or maybe just neglect at resume
I could ramble on for ages
An artist's mind when free of cages
Black flowers don't stand out to me
Neither does purple rain
Damn I really must have gone insane.
