i want to open up to my partner but i’m scared
tw: sh, panic attacks
no clue how to start this really. i’ve been struggling a lot these past two months and while im about 2 weeks clean, im really struggling not to relapse. I tried opening up a while ago (around a month ago?) to my partner about my sh and he was comforting and i thought it went well but later he told me he was incredibly worried about me and he ended up having a panic attack. since then i haven’t said a single thing about my sh because i didn’t want that to happen again.
these past two weeks he’s had panic attacks every single night as a side affect of his new anxiety medication (which he just got off of and onto a new one so they’re starting to go away, yay!!). though i’m getting so much worse and i really need to talk about it with somebody and he’s told me to tell him if i have any urges but i don’t want to tell him and have him worry and cause another panic attack if that makes sense? and i feel horrible for even considering talking to him about it while he’s dealing with all of these attacks.. idk what to do.

If his anxiety medication is working, it's a good thing, you should be able to open up before it's gets worse for you.
But do so honestly and let him know, all you need from him is a listening ear and a hug.
And support each other through this 💜💕

The best thing you can do is find support for yourself. If he doesn't seem sturdy enough, just find someone that is stable enough to provide help. Even just as a sound board when your thoughts are becoming chaotic. The only way to help him is to first help yourself. What helped me the most was talking to a skills coach (and even a couple of crisis lines) and coming up with my own list of (20 or so) coping skills to use instead of self injury.
