trying to stay clean
Does anyone have advice for ways to stay clean? I try to but eventually end up giving in in the ms so any advice is appreciated.
thanks.
hey,
im not sure if this will help, but -- in my experience, recovery is not a decision you can make half-heartedly. you have to be fully on board with the decision to quit. it takes time, and no one else can convince you.
you have to be in a place mentally where you know you don't deserve to be hurt anymore.
you have to reframe your mindset -- maybe you're attached to sh, and you feel like you're no one without it -- this was me. what i did was i started to get more attached to the idea of being recovered. being healthy and happy and better. and i thought, that could be the new me that i'll have when sh is gone. i won't be nothing without it. i'll be so much more without it. and i am :)
you have to have other things in place. ways of coping, comforting things and supportive people you can lean on. sometimes, you have to learn how to reach out for help and be comfortable with that. it depends on what's going on outside your sh and why you do it.
you being here and asking means you're trying. so i have no doubts that you can make it through this. you deserve recovery! <3

i appreciate the wisdom and resources. that you for taking the time to help a hurting stranger. :)
