Recovery is Hard, but it's Worth It

Self-harm recovery is hard. Last time I self-harmed was on July 16th, 2016, its been almost a year. It hasnt been an easy year. Ive had moments when I thought I was going to relapse because relapsing felt easier than staying safe. Over the past year I have proven to be resilient and have fought the urges every time theyve come up.

If youd tell me a year ago that I would make it this far in recovery I probably would have laughed in your face. Recovery seemed like an impossible feat. Though, recovery is a journey and not a destination. Recovery is a constant battle that you have to fight on a daily basis. But its a battle worth fighting.

@InvaderStitch oh my gosh, congratulations!!! It's such a massive achievement to go almost a year without your old coping mechanism, and I applaud you for it! And yes, I love your attitude towards recovery. It's never an easy ride, and there will be slip-ups and relapses, but that doesn't make you a failure. It doesn't mean you have to start at square one again. I am SO glad you found out truly how resilient you are, and I hope your self-confidence is increasing as well! Congratulations again! It's a massive achievement xx
