Can anyone with panic attacks help me
How you deal with them ? I don't have any medication. My hand is too cold I feel suffocated
@proactivePlace3164 I'm really sorry to hear that you're going through a panic attack right now. It's important to know that you're not alone, and there are strategies that can help you manage panic attacks, even without medication. Here are a few tips that might be helpful:
Deep Breathing: Try to focus on your breathing. Inhale deeply through your nose for a count of four, then exhale slowly through your mouth for a count of four. This can help regulate your breathing and reduce the feeling of suffocation.
Grounding Techniques: Ground yourself by touching or holding onto something physical. You can also try the 5-4-3-2-1 technique, where you identify and name five things you can see, four things you can touch, three things you can hear, two things you can smell, and one thing you can taste. This can help bring your focus back to the present moment.
Self-Talk: Remind yourself that panic attacks are temporary, even though they can be incredibly distressing. Tell yourself that you've gotten through them before, and you will get through this one too.
Progressive Muscle Relaxation: Tense and then release each muscle group in your body, starting from your toes and working your way up to your head. This can help relieve physical tension.
Reach Out: If possible, try to talk to someone you trust. Sharing your feelings with a friend or family member can be comforting and make you feel less alone.
Avoid Stimulants: Stay away from caffeine, nicotine, or any other stimulants that can exacerbate anxiety.
Remember, it's essential to seek professional help if you're experiencing frequent panic attacks or if they are interfering with your daily life. A therapist or counsellor can provide you with valuable coping strategies and support tailored to your specific situation.
