Is this me?
Sometimes I forget who I am because i was always the girl who ''hurts herself '' " always here" (ER or psych hospital) who am i if i dont hurt myself who am i if i cant cause pain to myself because I can't feel anything else other than that
im empty without my scars without holding on to my trauma that makes me do these things
i am my self harm i have been for almost 10 years i dont know how to function without it
is there something wrong with me if i feel i need this to be apart of who i am if this is all i know?
@tryinglittleaudrey
There's nothing wrong with you!
Yes, your scars are apart of you but they don't define you. You can completely be you without sh, some aspects and traumas in our life don't tell the whole story or paint a full picture of who we are and what we have to offer. You can be so much more, you matter, you deserve to be happy and sh free 💜💕
Hello, Audrey. I know how hard it is to feel that your trauma is what you are, that all your personality is what the trauma caused or the way you responded to it, or rather, the way you survived to it. I felt like that for a long time, but now I see parts of me that I forgot like the way I always loved to make art. Your scars are part of you, they tell a part of your story, a part of your life, but they don't show who you are. Every thing that you might consider "simple" or that you can't even see for now is probably one big part of you. I don't know if it helps, but a part of who you are that I can see even from here is that you are still here, you are writing what you feel, expressing how you feel and that is not always easy. In my own experience, when you stop seeing yourself as "the girl who is quiet and has no opinion", "the girl that still hurts herself when she doesn't even know why" or "the girl that has no preferences, not even a favorite meal" (speaking for myself) and you focus on living the way you want, the way that makes you better and being the person that feels more fulfilling you start descovering who you really are. I truly hope the best for you, my dear 🫂💞
