Struggling not to relapse

This is my first post on here. I've been clean for about 8 months but I am struggling big time. I have self harmed on and off since I was a kid, like 8 or 9 years old. It's deeply embedded in me as a coping mechanism and it is so hard to break away from it. I come home in the evenings and lately I've found myself having urges to self harm again and again. It's so frustrating and I can't seem to make it stop. I don't know what to do. I don't want to give in, because I always regret the scars and the injuries but I also can't seem to fight it.

@SadieSquare99 I'm sorry to hear you've been struggling for so long. I've been through what you are going through. I don't know if this helps you, but whenever I feel the urge to self-harm I go for a run. I push myself to my limits and the pain hurts my calfs and thighs. It hurts almost like self-harm yet it makes you healthier. You can also braw with erasable markers on you like you feel something on you, but you aren't hurting yourself. All the while doing this I listen to music it helps. Any distraction that doesn't hurt you or others is good. Take care ans Stay safe Sadie. If you can't, Try to. Good luck ^^ heart

@HappyLily291125 thanks so much. It's good to hear that other people struggle too. I hadn't thought about running but I'm going to give that a try. That's a really good idea.
